ATTRACTIVE prizes will be up for grabs in the Denarau Game and Sport Fishing Club-organised Tuna Levu Classic competition which will be held in Nadi later this month.
The Tuna Levu Classic is the first competition on the Denarau Game and Sport Fishing Club’s 2014 calendar.
Denarau Game and Sports Fishing Club secretary Jared Wood said a good number of yellow fin tuna and walu were being caught this time.
Wood said this was an encouraging sign being close to the first competition.
“As this is going to be our first real get together for the year, we are encouraging all interested parties to sign up for their membership,” he said.
“This can be done at Professional Real Estate at Port Denarau Marina from January 10 during normal business hours. We are grateful to McDonalds, Devcorp, Fiji Airways, Namotu Island Resort, Port Denarau Marina and Blue Gas for their sponsorship this year.
“The Tuna Levu Classic competition is two weeks away and it is going to be a competitive one. The prize money will be $4000. There will be other attractive prizes as well.”
The Tuna Levu Classic will be held on January 25 and January 26. Entry fee is $120.
The 2014 membership fees for the Denarau Game Fish and Sports Club are:
- $50 Single Competition Membership
- $75 Single Annual Membership
- $150 Family Annual Membership (max 6 members)
- $500 Corporate Membership (1 boat permitted per competition to fish).
The briefing for the Tuna Levu Classic competition will be held at the Cardo’s Restaurant at the Denarau Marina on January 23.
