Farrago II finished the ANZ Auckland/ Port-Denarau Yacht Race 2010 at 4.30am yesterday.
All the boats have now finished what has been one of the longest offshore races to Fiji in recent years.
The lighter headwinds made for some challenging tactical decisions and most boats were watching their food supplies very carefully over the last few days.
The race had in store challenges for the yachts with a storm in the second day to light winds and no winds on their third day.
The line honours was taken by O Canada which crossed the finishing line at Navula Passage on Friday at 09:41:03.
Port Denarau Marina managing director Nigel Skeggs said the Auckland-Fiji race was a long standing event on the ocean racing calendar.
Skeggs said this year’s event had a lot of people following the race very closely and eagerly awaiting results.
Some of the boats will be staying on to enjoy the Fijian hospitality and warmer weather while some have already left for the return trip to NZ and others to Australia.
