Port Denarau Marina has stepped in to support the country’s first Disability Gala Awards 2019.
The Disability Gala Awards and Concert of Hope will be held at the Holiday Inn, Suva on March 9.
Port Denarau Marina general manager Cynthia Rasch, said Port Denarau Marina is delighted to support United Blind Persons of Fiji and be a sponsor for the Disability Gala Awards and Concert of Hope.
“We believe that by supporting the cause, we have the power to improve the lives of those living with disabilities and encourage them to attend training and workshops to gain better skills and employment,” she said.
“Our company’s existence is part of a bigger system of people, values and nature. We endeavour to contribute to the communities in which we operate through the support of community initiatives and local charities.”
Event coordinator Rajneel Prasad said, all monies raised will be given to the United Blind Persons of Fiji (UBPFA) in association with the Fiji National Council of Disabled Persons (FNCDP).
“They have given $1500 for support, they are not sponsoring any category and we are very thankful for such gesture,” he said.
Prasad added that tickets are selling fast.
