Whitetip Marine Adventures

Whitetip Marine Adventures offers diving on the walls of the outer barrier reef and the coral reefs of the Mamanuca Islands.

For the diving and snorkelling enthusiasts who prefer to enjoy the underwater world with only a small exclusive group of like minded marine adventurers.

Certified diver trips are limited to five divers plus dive guide on each trip. Dive trips are 2 tanks (2 dives) – and include a few light refreshments to keep the energy levels up.

Do we have warm water in Fiji?

We think so – Summer high 30 degrees C, Winter low 26 degrees C. ‘Crikey mate that’s warm’ I hear you say. Come check it out for yourself, we think you’ll love it.

Do you need a wet suit?

We don’t think so, but you’re welcome to bring your own or use one from our selection if you feel our Winter low of 26 degrees C water temperature is freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you need to be an experienced diver to have an Adventure with Whitetip Marine Adventures?

NO – all levels of diver experience are provided for – we consider divers’ experience levels when selecting the dive sites to be visited to ensure the best Adventure is experienced.

Dive leaders – All dives are lead by a qualified dive professional with a minimum certification level of SSI Dive Guide. Dive guides are along to make sure you are on the right spot to see the good stuff and have a safe and memorable Adventure.

If you haven’t dived for a while we have instructors along on most dive trips to enable quick refresher updates of skills to be done while enjoying your first dive for a while.

Certified Divers with experience

Two tank dive trips depart each morning and each day’s nominated dive sites will be selected with regard the weather and experience levels of the divers. Being limited to small groups on each trip means we can be a little more adventurous in dive site selection as the Dive Guide can pay more attention to those divers with slightly less experience and ensure everyone enjoys a safe and comfortable dive.

However there will be one day per week when we will schedule a trip out to the Salamander wreck and then back to the B26 aircraft wreck for the second dive. Due to the Salamander wreck site being a little further out, this nominated wreck day each week will change to fit the weather forecast as we want you to enjoy your dive trip as much as possible.

Certified Divers with not so much experience – Some dive sites are not suitable for divers with lesser experience and it is out intention to not place you on a dive site that exceeds you abilities or comfort levels – there are plenty of amazing coral reef dive sites for our newer divers to enjoy so talk to is about what you would like to do and we can arrange appropriate dive site selection to be made – how lucky are we to have such a diverse range of dive sites in our back yard – fantastic!

Most afternoons we will have a dive trip departing to a local coral reef for a single tank dive (1 dive) and this is a really good dive if you have recently completed your Open Water Diver course or haven’t dived for a while and would like a skills refresher dive.

Never dived before? But would like to see what it’s about – We have two Adventure options for you to choose from – Yay!

Testimonials from our clients

Perfect balance of professional and friendly – SV Kefi

Thank you for a great (if unsual!) season this winter. This was our first cruising experience, and your marina staff made us feel welcome and safe the entire time. Despite their own stresses and uncertainties, the workers continued to go out of their way to ensure we received the level of hospitality and customer service that Fiji's reputation is based on.

In particular I would like to commend Geoff and Ali.

Geoff worked tirelessly through, picking up the slack created by shortened office hours and reduced staffing, the perfect balance of professional and friendly.

Ali was extremely proactive, helpful, and patient right from the beginning when he knew we were new and inexperienced, all the way through to our departure. I acknowledge that it must have been difficult for him to be away for the jetty during the most extreme period of lockdown, and his positive and hardworking attitude shone through despite it all.

We are now safely back in NZ, but look forward to returning in May 2021 to see you all again. We wish you a safe summer season.

Nigel and his friendly team at Denarau Marina made myself and the crew of Thalia very welcome. They went out of their way to provide additional services that you would not usually expect from a marina. I highly recommend Denarau marina to any super yachts visiting the Pacific, it was one of the best marinas we have stayed in on our world cruise.

Port Denarau Marina has new, modern berths and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. Leanne Mitchell as reception/reservations is especially wonderful, extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful.
